Rye Rotary Club Meeting Cancelled Due To Rotarian's Death

RYE, N.Y. -- Friday's luncheon meeting of the Rye Rotary Club, which was to feature a talk by Rye High School Principal Patricia B. Taylor, has been cancelled due to the death of one of its members.

Wednesday's death of Rotarian Dr. Joseph Soury prompted the cancellation of the Friday, Sept. 30 luncheon meeting of Rye Rotary Club. Patricia B.Taylor, principal at Rye High School, was scheduled as guest speaker.

Jason L. Mehler, president of Rye Rotary Club, said Friday's noon luncheon meeting Sept. 30 at Whitby Castle was cancelled due to the passing of Rotarian Dr Joseph Soury.

Mr. Soury died on Wednesday evening, according to a family member. His funeral is Friday, Sept. 30 at 9:30 a.m. at Shalom Jewish Funeral Home, 1528 Castle Hill Ave., in the Bronx. Shiva will be at the home of Aaron and Kathy Soury, 245 Albemarle Road in White Plains.
