RYE, N.Y. – Following an unprecedented number of school closures last week due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy, Rye City Schools will be open Election Day this year, the district announced Monday.
Midland Elementary School, Rye Middle School, Rye High School and Rye School of Leadership all will be open Tuesday, according to the district. Milton and Osborn elementary schools were not opened Monday due to a power outage and may be once again closed Tuesday, according to Rye Mayor Doug French. The Superintendent’s conference day scheduled for Tuesday was canceled Sunday.
