Rye is only one of seven school districts in the state to receive the Aaa rating.

Moody’s lauded Rye educators for refinancing two of its bonds; this decision will ultimately save the school district more than $320,000.

“Moody’s granted the district (the) Aaa rating once again, recognizing long-standing fiscally conservative management by the Board of Education and the administration and the community’s support of the district as illustrated by unprecedented voter turnout and a 70 percent 'yes' vote in favor of the 2015-16 school budget,” Laura Slack, president of Rye City School District’s Board of Education, said in a press release.
