Rye Assistant Superintendent To Resign

RYE, N.Y. -- The assistant superintendent for business of Rye City School District will leave her position at the end of July. Kathleen Ryan announced her resignation at the Board of Education meeting Tuesday night.

Ryan has been with the district since 2007. Following her resignation she will focus on pursuing professional and personal interests and spend part of the year in Florida.

"It has been a pleasure to work with Kathleen," said Superintendent Frank Alvarez in a statement. "She has been a vital member of our central administration and an exceptional business official. Her expertise and outstanding contributions will be missed."

“It has been a privilege to work with all of my colleagues here in Rye,” Ryan said. “Dr. Alvarez has been wonderful, as has the rest of my administrative team, and it will be a bittersweet farewell as I leave my role here to focus on other areas of my life. I would like to thank the many supportive board members, central administration, and all my other fellow staff members for making my time in the district such a positive experience.”

The Board of Education will share information on the search for Ryan's successor in the coming months.
