Speakers at the recent commencement ceremony included Valedictorian Rosa Guerra, Salutatorian Alfred DiLeo, Senior Class President Perla Funes and Michael Arterberry, who was keynote speaker.
In his speech, High School Principal Mitchell Combs said, "We are pleased to confer diplomas to 306 students, I’m told the largest graduating class in 39 years."
Combs said that 95 percent of Port Chester's graduates received Regents Diplomas and more than one in five students are receiving Advanced Regents Diplomas. "You are an impressive class," Combs told the Class of 2016 graduates.
Combs added, “Today, we celebrate our second group of IB Diploma Candidates, a group who like their pioneering peers in last year’s graduating class are small in number but large in accomplishment. These students have completed the entire IB Diploma Program, its rigorous coursework, its 4,000-word essay, and documented hours of creativity, action, and service. These students are wearing special medals today to signify their hard work and the prestige they have brought to our high school. Would our IB Diploma Candidates please stand at your seat as your name is called and remain standing to be recognized:

"My very best to all of you," Combs said. "Congratulations on the courage and hard work you have exhibited and for laying the groundwork for about 20 juniors following in your footsteps next year. “
Also speaking were Superintendent of Schools Edward Kliszus and Board of Education President Robert Johnson.
