Pace Welcomes High School Teachers For Cybersecurity Workshop This Summer

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pace University is inviting area high school teachers to attend a seven-day summer workshop aimed at introducing high school teachers to an array of topics relating to the growing field of cybersecurity.

The workshop will include lectures, hands-on exercises, presentations by industry professionals, group discussions, and lesson design projects. By the end of the program, participants will develop lesson plans that integrate cybersecurity concepts into their curricula or after-school programming. Pace educators hope to provide a professional development opportunity for teachers to become familiar with fundamental concepts and diverse topics in cybersecurity, as well as with education and career opportunities in the field.

Each participant will receive a flat-rate stipend of $1,400 at the end of the workshop to cover the cost of transportation and other expenses related to attending the workshop. 

Topics will include:

  • Basic Concepts in Cybersecurity 
  • Cryptography 
  • Access Control 
  • Biometrics 
  • Digital Forensics

The workshop will be held Thursday, July 14 – Friday, July 22 on Pace University's Pleasantville Campus from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
