RYE, N.Y. -- More than 100 pajama-wearing Milton Elementary School students gathered for the October Family Reading Night in Rye.
The kids and their family members met at the school auditorium for the "Happy Birthday" themed night to honor the Rye Free Reading Room's 100th year, according to a press release. Reading Room Director Chris Shoemaker helped lead the celebration and asked children to explore the library, according to the release.
"David Walker, a Milton dad, wowed the children with his animated readings of two birthday-themed books," representatives said in the release. "After singing 'Happy Birthday,' everyone enjoyed milk and cookies."
