The program will present students with the same challenges that people in the health-care industry face when dealing with patients who are seriously ill and dying.

Titled “Palliative and Long-Term Care: A Public-Health Approach,” the course will take place over a single weekend in October, from Friday, Oct. 16 to Monday, Oct. 19. There will be a similar program in February, from Feb. 12 -15.

Cost for the program is $2,700 per person and $2,500 for alumni.

Students have the option to choose between gerontology, public health, palliative care or long-term care for their concentrations.

The program is put together by Dr. Mary Beth Morrissey, the founder of the Collaborative for Palliative Care and a current Fellow of Fordham's Global Healthcare Innovation Management Center.

The list of teachers for the program includes doctors from the WESTMED Medical Group and other Fordham faculty.

Students in master's programs are eligible to apply, and online registration can be completed at this link.
