Danielle Barry, Accomplished Musician From Westchester, Dies At 24

A Northern Westchester County woman, known as an accomplished musician with a love of helping others, has died at the age of 24.

According to her obituary, Danielle Barry, of Chappaqua, died on Sunday, Oct. 31, from ovarian cancer.

Barry was a co-captain of the junior varsity softball team during her time as a student at Horace Greeley High School, her obituary reads.

She also graduated from Binghamton University in 2019, earning a bachelor of science degree in integrative neuroscience.

Barry played violin and piano and had a love of traveling. 

"Danielle had a passion for helping others. In college she tutored calculus, and volunteered at the local UHS. During her summer she was a campus tour guide," her obituary reads. "After college she trained her golden retriever to become a therapy dog. She was also a member of the Chappaqua Volunteer Ambulance Corps."

Barry is survived by her parents, Maria and Steven, her sister, Stefanie, her brother, John, along with her cousins and grandparents.

A visitation to honor Barry's life is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home in Mount Kisco.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, at the Church of St. John and St. Mary in Chappaqua.
