Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Mark Johnson told the Journal on Monday officials have determined the blaze at 7 N. Hamilton St. started behind an empty apartment on the first floor.

The fire's "exact cause" is still being investigated, said the Poughkeepsie Journal.
