Wilton Mother Accused Of Taking Kids' Social Security Benefits

WILTON, Conn. -- Wilton police responded to an investigation into a Wilton woman alleged to have taken around $50,000 from Social Security benefits of her two children who are minors, according to the Wilton Bulletin.

The U.S. Social Security Administration assembled an investigative report, information police used to obtain a warrant to arrest Jane Powell, 56, said the Bulletin.

Stamford Judicial Court issued the arrest warrant for Powell, the Wilton Bulletin reported.

Her charges are two counts of first-degree larceny and two counts of first-degree forgery, said the Bulletin.
