Fire At Mount Vernon Chinese Restaurant Spreads, Destroying 3 Businesses

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – The Mount Vernon Fire Department had to get help from units in Pelham and Yonkers after a fire started at a local Chinese restaurant and spread, destroying three businesses, according to multiple reports.

The Mount Vernon Fire Department enlisted the help of the Pelham and Yonkers departments to battle a blaze on Sunday morning.

The Golden Gate Chinese Restaurant on West Sandford Boulevard caught fire on Sunday.

Once the fire had spread to a fish market, a grocery store and a home, the Pelham and Yonkers fire departments were called in, reported News 12 Westchester.

All three businesses were destroyed, News 12 said.
