Ridgefield Schools Closed Friday Due To Expected Heavy Snow

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Ridgefield Public Schools will be closed Friday due to the heavy snow expected to fall overnight across the region.

With no school Friday, kids in Ridgefield can enjoy some sledding.

The administrative offices for the district will not open before 11 a.m. A second determination on the office opening will be made mid-morning.

A warming center will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Parks & Recreation Center, 195 Danbury Road, in case residents lose power, First Selectman Rudy Marconi said.

State Superior Courts were closed and the Department of Motor Vehicles canceled all driving tests for the day.

Western Connecticut State University and all other state colleges are also closed.
