Roy Bryant, 63, Stamford Postal Worker

STAMFORD, Conn. – Roy Bryant, a longtime Stamford resident, died April 25 at Stamford Hospital after a long illness. He was 63. 

He was born Dec, 10, 1948 in Mobile, Ala., to Sam and Annie Mae Bryant. Before his illness, Bryant worked at the Stamford Postal Service as a mail handler. He also volunteered at the Wilson Food Pantry since 2007 and looked forward to spending time there each week.

Bryant is survived by his wife, Debbie Bryant; eight children, Antoine Washington, Yolanda Bryant, Clorice Miller-Mack, Rodney Bryant, Roy Bryant, Roy Bryant, Jr., Brenda Lawley, and Brittany Bryant; five sisters, Annie Dubose, Hattie Mae Bates, Rosetta Addison, Mary Thomas and Hope Chapman; four brothers, Vincent Johnson, Robert Wilson, James Bryant, and John Bryant; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many relatives. 

Funeral services will be Monday at Wilson Memorial Church of God In Christ in Stamford. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Woodland Cemetery. Baker Funeral Services is handling arrangements.
