Rye's Parker To Take Part In County Board Campaign Debate

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Tom Murphy of Mamaroneck and Catherine Parker of Rye will take part in a debate July 31 as they campaign for a seat on the Westchester County Board of Legislators.

Murphy and Parker are both seeking the Democratic nomination to replace Judy Myers as the legislator for  District 7, which includes Mamaroneck, Rye, Larchmont and portions of Harrison and New Rochelle. Myers, also a Democrat, will not seek another term on the Board of Legislators.

Registered Democrats will choose between Murphy and Parker in a primary election on Sept. 10, with the winner running in the general election in November. Murphy is a former member of the Mamaroneck Board of Trustees and Parker is a current member of the Rye City Council.

The debate will be hosted by the League of Women Voters of Larchmont-Mamaroneck. The candidates will discuss their qualifications and answer questions posed by the LWV and audience members.

The debate will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the courtroom of Mamaroneck Town Center, 740 West Boston Post Road.
