RYE BROOK, N.Y. Its less than a month to Election Day for businessman Bob Cohen and state Assemblyman George Latimer, who will face off on the issues of property taxes, economic development, government reform and more at an Oct. 23 debate in Rye Brook sponsored by the Westchester County Association.
Steve Scott, anchor and host of Eye on Politics on WCBS Newsradio 880 will lead the candidates through the issues as the two vie to fill the seat being vacated by retiring state Sen. Suzi Oppenheimer. District 37 encompasses Rye, Harrison, Mamaroneck, New Castle, New Rochelle, Scarsdale and White Plains.
The Westchester County Association remains committed to serving as a resource for voters and to providing a strong and clear voice for the interests of Westchester business on the regional, national and international levels, said Amy Allen, managing director of advocacy and international business for the association, in a news release. Whatever the outcome of this race, we will work collaboratively with District 37s next state senator to develop well-researched public policy initiatives that foster economic vitality in Westchester and the region.
The free debate will take place from 5-6:15 p.m. at 800 Westchester Ave., Rye Brook. No RSVP is required to attend, however, seating is limited to the first 150 attendees.
