PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – A Bridgeport, Conn., woman who police said parked her car on a Port Chester sidewalk, then ran a red light, was charged early Thursday morning with aggravated driving while intoxicated.

An officer said he saw the car parked on a sidewalk on Midland Avenue at about 3 a.m. and when he went to check on the driver, she drove down Midland Avenue and through a red light at Grace Church Street. The officer pulled her over and asked for her information.

“She gave him a hard time and asked him, ‘why are you asking me questions,’” said Lt. James Ladeairous, spokesperson for the Port Chester Police Department.

Ginger Elizabeth Powell, 33, of 61 Hope St., Bridgeport, was charged with DWI, a felony because she had a prior similar arrest, police said. She was also ticketed for running the light.
