The driver was pulling into a parking spot at the WestMed Medical Group at 1 Theall Road when she apparently hit the gas instead of the brakes, witnesses told lohud.com.

The woman she struck was dragged and then pinned, suffering serious injuries; the 3- or 4-year-old child escaped with cuts and bruises, the lohud.com report said.

They were reportedly taken to Westchester Medical Center for treatment. The incident occurred around 4:28 p.m.

Witnesses also told lohud.com that parking attendants and other bystanders helped free the woman and that the unidentified driver was also taken away on a stretcher.
