Two Men Mugged By Four Youths In Port Chester

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Two young men were jumped by four males in their teens and early 20s Wednesday morning when they entered a building in Port Chester, police said.

A 19-year-old from Port Chester had bruising on his face and a 23-year-old from Elmsford was robbed of his Boost Mobile phone when they entered a building on South Main Street. They were confronted by a white male and three black males carrying wooden sticks.

The four assailants fled toward Travis Avenue and were not caught. Both of the victims declined medical attention.

Lt. James Ladeairous, spokesman for the Port Chester Police Department, said situations like this are not gang-related. He added that people often make themselves easy targets by being intoxicated and walking alone late at night.

“We tell people if they’re going to drink, go home with someone else, and we let people know we’ll give them a ride home, but they don’t take us up on it,” Ladeairous said.
