The 15-year-old was walking home on Parker Street on Friday, Jan. 4, when two people came up behind him and forcibly pulled his backpack to confront him, police said. A few minutes before the incident, the two had asked the teen for money.
They threatened him, saying they wanted money and a phone or he would get hit. One of the robbers allegedly said he would pull out a gun. The teen didn’t have any valuables on him, and the two left.
The teen was able to call the police and his mother, who took him home. The teen said he knew one of the robbers and gave descriptions to the police. Officers made arrests with the information.
Jean Vilchez-Flores, 20, of 525 Locust Ave., Port Chester and a 16-year-old Port Chester boy, whose identity was withheld, were both arrested on charges of second-degree attempted robbery, a class D felony.
