Teen Suspect Charged In Fatal Shooting Outside New Westchester Complex

A Westchester County teenager is facing a murder charge after being connected to a fatal shooting outside of The Modern in Mount Vernon, according to the Westchester County District Attorney’s office.

Mount Vernon resident Tasjawn “Tay” White, 19, was arraigned on a murder charge in connection to the fatal shooting of Donovan Brown, 24, on March 14 outside of the recently opened The Modern on Macquesten Parkway.

According to city officials, Brown was shot and killed at approximately 12:10 a.m. on March 14. White was allegedly with a second man at the time of the fatal shooting. The second suspect remains at large.

White was arraigned on charges that include second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder. He is currently being held at the Westchester County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to appear in court later this month to answer the charges.
