State Police Charge Five With DWI In Westchester Patrols

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- State Police charged five motorists with driving while intoxicated this past weekend throughout Westchester County, including on the Taconic State Parkway and I-684.

Louis G. Russo, 40, of Yorktown Heights was by State Police from Somers charged with DWI, a Class E felony on Friday, June 10. Troopers stopped Russo on State Route 118 for speeding and failure to maintain his lane of travel, state police said. Russo was charged with Felony DWI when a criminal history revealed a prior DWI related conviction from within the previous 10 years. 

Russo provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .11 percent, police said, and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Somers Court on June 20.

State Police from Hawthorne charged 25-year-old Steven M. Osorio of Yorktown with driving while intoxicated on Saturday, June 11. 

Troopers stopped Osorio on the Sprain Brook Parkway for having a loud exhaust. Russo was found to be intoxicated at the time of the stop, state police said. 

Osorio provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .10 percent and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Mount Pleasant Court on June 24.

Troopers from Hawthorne arrested 30-year-old Romina Abello-Rodriguez, of New York City for DWI, a misdemeano, on Saturday, June 11.

Troopers stopped Abello-Rodriguez on the Taconic State Parkway for operated a vehicle without its head lights or tail lights illuminated, police said. Abello-Rodriguez was found to be intoxicated at the time of the lawful traffic stop, according to. He provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .08 percent and was issued traffic tickets directing her to appear in the Town of New Castle Court on June 23.

State Police from Hawthorne charged Cristian A. Cardenas, 25, of Croton-on-Hudson with DWI, a misdemeanor, on Sunday, June 12. 

Troopers stopped Cardenas on the Sprain Brook State Parkway for traveling in excess of 95 miles per hour, police said. Cardenas provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .09 percent and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Mount Pleasant Court on June 23.

Police from the Somers barracks charged 33-year-old Jorge Cruz Ramirez of Clifton Park with DWI, a misdemeanor. Cruz Ramirez was arrested for DWI following a two-car property damage crash investigation conducted on I-684. The defendant provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .10 percent. He was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Harrison Justice Court on June 21.
