Rye Police Subdue Emotionally Disturbed Man

RYE, N.Y. -- Rye police were called to the 300 block of Oakland Beach Avenue on Monday night on a report that an emotionally disturbed person was acting "out of control."

Rye police had to use force to subdue an emotionally disturbed man on Oakland Beach Avenue Monday night. The unidentified man was taken to Westchester Medical Center. Two police officers sustained minor injuries to their knees.

Rye Police Commissioner Michael C. Corcoran Jr. said officers "had to use force to subdue him."

The unidentified man was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla about 9:30 p.m.

Corcoran said that two police officers sustained minor injuries to their knees.
