Rye Police Arrest Pair In ID Theft Probe

RYE, N.Y. -- Rye Police arrested two men on Tuesday as a result of an investigation into recent ID thefts.

Charged about 1 p.m. with fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree crminial possession of stolen property and second-degree criiminal possession of a forged instrument were Henry Wallace, 35, and Manuel Griffith, 31, both of Brooklyn, according to Rye Police. Additional charges are pending, police said.

After a thorough investigation it was discovered that these two individuals were involved in an identity theft case, police said 

"Our agency is working in conjunction with numerous other law enforcement agencies to tie these individuals to many other identity theft cases,'' said Lt. Scott J. Craig, patrol commander for the City of Rye Police Department.

Both suspects were arraigned in Rye City Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail, Craig said on Wednesday afternoon.
