The landlord of a Bruce Avenue apartment building discovered the human remains in early June, prompting a police investigation into the incident in early June.

Police Sgt. Dean Politopoulos said on Friday that the man has been identified - though his name has not been released - and he is a male in his 50s. No additional information is being released at this time.

A watch and ring were also recovered by police as the investigation continues.

The case is being investigated by detectives in the Major Case and Crime Scene Unit, who have spoken with witnesses, recovered surveillance video and surveyed forensic evidence.

Anyone with information concerning the discovery of the skeletonize remains can confidentially contact Major Case Detective Michael Farina at the Yonkers Police Department by calling (914) 377-7724. Tips can also be sent by texting the keyword YPD with the tip to 847411.
