In addition to harassment, Trevor Goff of Yonkers also pleaded guilty to criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and obstruction of breathing in connection with the June 16, 2017, episode in Pleasantville, according to the Westchester County District Attorney's Office.
Goff, of the Yonkers Police Department, was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge, which means he will serve no jail time or probation, if he meets the terms of his sentence which includes receiving alcohol treatment, attend anger management classes and completes 50 hours of community service, according to the DA's Office.
Goff was arrested after he broke a car windshield and put a woman in a chokehold after a night on the town in Pleasantville, according to court records.
The first incident occurred 2:50 a.m. when police received a report of a man jumping on a windshield, shattering it, in front of the Thirsty Scholar Pub at 472 Bedford Road, said Wollman.
According to court filings, Goff had gone into the Thirsty Scholar Pub on Bedford Road through the back door and was thrown out by a bar employee. Once outside, he jumped on the windshield of a car parked outside the bar, shattering it.
The group he was with then went to a home where a woman took away his car keys. The two got into a dispute when she would not return his keys and he put her in a chokehold, blocking her airway until she gave him the keys.
The woman called police after he got in his truck and drove away.
The Yonkers police department said Goff will remain on modified duty until an internal investigation is completed.
