WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A White Plains man was sentenced to 35 years in prison on Tuesday for the fatal Port Chester shooting of Wilfredo Rivera, according to the Westchester County District Attorney.

Jaerue Williams, 28, was found guilty in October for shooting Rivera in the chest in August, 2012.

Subsequent investigation identified Williams as the shooter. He was already in custody for parole violations stemming from felony convictions from 2010, the District Attorney said.

Williams was sentenced to consecutive terms: 25 years for first-degree manslaughter and 10 years for second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
