Larchmont Fire Chief John Caparelli said a healthy baby girl was born just before the department's career firefighters arrived at the home.
An emergency call came in about 7:45 p.m. Sunday that a 30-year-old woman was not going to make it to the hospital in time.
Larchmont firefighters are trained to deliver babies, but rarely have to, according to the fire chief.
