ID Released For Woman Killed In Yonkers House Fire

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. --  A woman who died in a house fire in Yonkers on Thursday has been identified, according to the Yonkers Police Department.

Aida Santiago, a 54-year-old Yonkers resident who was trapped in the basement at 7 William St., was pulled from the burning home around 11 a.m. by New Rochelle and Yonkers firefighters. She was not a resident of the home, police said.

Detectives from the Yonkers Police Fire Investigation Unit, Major Case Unit, and Crime Scene Unit are actively investigating this incident and the cause of the fire, interviewing witnesses, canvassing the scene, and processing forensic evidence, said Yonkers Police said Sgt. Dean Politopoulos.
