William L. Ricketts, 87, Of Rye, WWII Navy Veteran

RYE, N.Y. - William L. Ricketts of Rye died Nov. 2. He was 87.

Ricketts was born April 9, 1927, in New York City, to Michael and Bridget Ricketts. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local 40 in New York for 65 years and retired in 1989. During World War II he served in the Navy in the Pacific.

Ricketts is survived by his daughters, Maureen Angerame of Old Chatham, Jean Marie Ricketts (Lawrence Appel) of Ellicott City, Md., Margaret Ricketts and Jennifer Ricketts of Rye; three grandchildren; and sister, Rita Byers. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Margaret; brothers, James, Vincent, John, Raymond, Norman and Frederick; and sister, Gertrude Evans.

Calling hours are Thursday, Nov. 6 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Graham Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7 at the Church of the Resurrection, Rye. Interment at the Greenwood Union, Rye.
