William Farrell, 91, Lifelong Rye Resident, WWII Veteran

RYE, N.Y. - William Farrell, a lifelong resident of Rye, died Aug. 8. He was 91.

Farrell was born Nov. 28, 1921, in Rye, to Harry J. and Mae Hehir Farrell. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre including the Aleutian Islands.

Farrell is survived by his daughters, Cathleen Montimurro (Anthony), Vickie Cox (Joseph), and Jacqueline Wellott (Trent); eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Anna Farrell; and daughter, Barbara Owen.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Graham Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14 at the Church of the Resurrection, Rye.
