Michael Sclafani Of Larchmont, Fdny Paramedic, Dies At 39

Somers native Michael John Sclafani of Larchmont died on Wednesday, Aug. 16. He was 39.

He was born Nov. 7, 1977 to John and Judy Sclafani, raised in Somers and graduated with honors from Somers High School in 1995. He went on to attend SUNY New Paltz.

Michael was a dedicated Paramedic in FDNY EMS. He recently received an award for his life-saving heroic efforts and was honored by the Commissioner at the “Second Chance Brunch." Michael recently completed his HAZ-TAC training as part of his mission to advance himself in his career.

An avid marathon runner, he participated in the NYC Marathon and was a member of the FDNY Road Runners Club as well as the Taconic Running Club.

Michael is the beloved husband of Monica (nee Arce). In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his precious daughter, Sevilla, his loving sister, Nicole Mulcahy, and loving in-laws, Maria Arce, Raquel Russo, Joe Russo and Cindy Atiencia.

To honor Michael’s life, family and friends will gather Sunday, Aug. 20 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 767 E. Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck.

Funeral Mass will be Monday, Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. at Sts. John & Paul Church. Committal will be private.
