RYE, N.Y. Mary Frances Duffy, a lifelong resident of Rye, died Sept. 18 at Greenwich Hospital after a fall. She was 59.
Duffy was born Oct. 21, 1959, in Bronx, N.Y., to Martin and Kathleen Duffy. She led a team of operating room nurses at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York City for more than a decade. She was a cancer care pioneer and survivor, her family said.
She is survived by two sisters, Helena Duffy and Kathy Fray; three brothers, Marty, Sean and Patrick; and 15 nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Graham Funeral Home in Rye. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Resurrection in Rye.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor in the Bronx.
