RYE, N.Y. – Maria Annita Maccaferri, a 70-year resident of Rye, died Jan. 12. She was 92.
She was born Feb. 2, 1920, in Serracapriola, Italy, to Vittorino and Antonietta de Leonardis Centuori. She met her husband, Mario Maccaferri, while living in Paris. They married on Dec. 23, 1937.
Her husband founded the French-American Reeds Co. and Mastro Industries. Maria Maccaferri worked as the production manager at the company for 66 years.
She was predeceased by her husband on April 16, 1993. She is survived by three children, Eliane M. Reese of Jackson, Tenn., Antoinette Rothballer of Rye and Marco Maccaferri of Louisville, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Graham Funeral Home in Rye. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Church of the Resurrection in Rye.
