Margaret Daly, 83, Of Pleasantville

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Margaret (Reardon) Daly, of Pleasantville, died Dec. 29 in Dedham, Mass. She was 83.

Known as Peg, Daly was born April 3, 1932, in Port Chester, to Katherine and William Reardon. She was a graduate of Rye Country Day School and the College of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station, N.J. 

She married James Daly, and together they raised five children. She worked as a social worker at the New York Foundling Hospital before she was married. She later focused on raising her family and worked part time as a travel agent. She was a long-time parishioner of Holy Innocents Roman Catholic Church in Pleasantville and a volunteer for many years at Northern Westchester and United hospitals. 

She was predeceased by her son, William; her parents; and her sister, Ann Reardon Holzwarth. 

Daly is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jim; children James Jr, (Isabel Rimmer), Kathleen Emerson (Joseph), Kevin (Amy), Patricia Santos (Roniel) and Erin O’Mara (Stephen); and 17 grandchildren. 

Visitors will be received at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9 at Holy Innocents Roman Catholic Church in Pleasantville, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Daly's name to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the National Down Syndrome Society.
