RYE, N.Y. — Rye resident Irene Hartigan died on Friday, April 29. She was 81.
Hartigan graduated from Roosevelt High School in Yonkers in 1952 and worked as a legal secretary for Day, Berry, and Howard Law Firm in Stamford, Conn.
On July 25, 1959 she married John (Jack) Hartigan
She was a member of the Coveleigh Club in Rye, for 45 years.
Hartigan is survived by her husband, John, children Patricia Malmquist and her husband, Derek, Edina, Lisa Ashton and her husband, Pete, and Stephen Hartigan and his wife. Carmen.
She also is survived by her sister, Norma Minicus and her husband. Robert, as well as grandchildren Kaitlin, Kiely, Madison, and Christopher Hartigan; Dylan, Garrett, and Liam Malmquist; Kate, Molly, and Tommy Ashton.
Visitation is at the Graham Funeral Home, 1036 Boston Post Road, in Rye on Thursday, May 5 and Friday, May 6 from 4-8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Resurrection Chapel, 88 Milton Road in Rye on Saturday, May 7, at 11 a.m.
