RYE, N.Y. - Howard Bratches of Rye died Sunday, May 19. He was 83.
Bratches was born June 1, 1929, in Hammond, Ind., son of Howard and Helen Bratches. He attended White Plains High School and graduated from Washington & Lee University School of Law in 1953. He worked at Shell Oil as a personnel/labor relations lawyer, General Foods as a human resources manager and Thorndike Deland Associates, an executive recruiting firm in New York City, as partner.
Bratches is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Daryl, Janice, Beth, Kurt and Kyle; their spouses, Bob, Barb, David, Beth and Mark; and 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Ron Bratches.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. June 1 at Christ's Church in Rye.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bratches's memory may be made to Christ's Church in Rye.
