Eleanor Reifeiss, 88, Ex-Bookkeeper For Playland

RYE, N.Y. – Eleanor Dalmer Reifeiss, a former bookkeeper for Playland Amusement Park in Rye, died Saturday, July 7, at Laurel Ridge in Ridgefield, Conn. She was 88.

Reifeiss was born Nov. 9, 1923, in Port Chester to Herman and Barbara Ploen Dalmer. A former resident of Montauk, N.Y., she worked as a bookkeeper for Playland Amusement Park for more than 35 years before retiring. She was married to Edward Arthur Reifeiss for 56 years and was a resident of Ridgefield. She was predeceased by her husband.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara A. (George) Carpenter of Ridgefield; a son, Richard (Sandy) Reifeiss of Danbury, Conn.; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hull Funeral Home in Danbury.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity.
