WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Westchester County is expected to see all rain overnight Sunday into Monday, but the forecast calls for wintry precipitation for further north in the Lower Hudson Valley, with the National Weather Service issuing a winter weather advisory for Putnam and Orange counties.
The advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. Sunday until 10 a.m. Monday. The forecast for those northern counties calls for snow, sleet and freezing rain overnight in those counties with an accumulation of up to an inch of snow, along with a tenth of an inch of ice possible by Monday morning, the weather service said.
Slippery services on untreated walkways and roads could make travel hazardous in those areas. Drivers are urged to exercise caution.
Overnight temperatures are expected to dip into the mid 30s for most of Westchester County, with a 90 percent chance of overnight rain.
Monday's weather is predicted to be rainy across all of Westchester County later in the afternoon with temperatures in the upper 40s.
