First up is the story of a Rye Brook woman who was sexually assaulted in her home in front of her son by the jealous wife of a contractor employed by the woman, according to police.
On Aug. 4, Giovanna Osorio, 40, of 269 Columbus Ave., Apt. 5, Tuckahoe, drove to the victim’s Rye Brook neighborhood in search of her husband, according to Detective Sgt. Terrence Wilson of the Rye Brook Police Department.
“She found what she thought to be his car, but it wasn’t, because he was working in Stamford at the time,” Wilson said.
Osorio broke the kitchen window but was too short to climb through, Wilson said. She unlocked the door using a copy of a key she had made from when her husband had worked there, he said. Osorio went upstairs to the victim’s bedroom, where the woman was sleeping alongside her son, Wilson said.
The woman was startled but recognized Osorio from previous contact, and a scuffle ensued, Wilson said. “The aggressor grabbed her hair and bit her on her nose,” he said. “She pushed her on the bed and grabbed her between her private area. She inserted her finger in the woman’s rectum, causing injury.”
Osorio left as the woman called the police. But she returned and was arrested, Wilson said. She told police she believed her husband was cheating on her with the Rye Brook woman.
Osorio was formally charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, both class C violent felonies; one count of second-degree aggravated sexual abuse, a class C felony; one count of second-degree assault, a class D violent felony; and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor. Osorio faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in state prison if convicted.
She is due in Westchester County Court on Jan. 15. Assistant District Attorney Wendy Parra of the Sex Crimes Bureau is prosecuting the case.
