The Osborn Hosts Outdoor Movie Night in Rye

RYE, N.Y. -- Jannine Moran came with her son Patrick to The Osborn retirement community Thursday night for a free outdoor movie and they both made sure to wear sweats. "We want to make sure we don't get eaten by the bugs," said Moran, sitting in a lawn chair on the grass.

The Osborn opened its doors to the community, inviting people to come watch "Night At The Museum" projected on a giant inflatable screen rented from the Westchester County Parks and Recreation Department. "We wanted to provide something for both the residents of the Osborn and the community," said Susie McNamee, who works at the Osborn and organized the event. McNamee said it was the first outdoor movie hosted by the Osborn and she hopes to have more activities that can bring the community together.

Moran was grateful to be able to watch a movie with her son in such an idyllic setting. "This is beautiful space," she said. "It's really generous of them to have us here." For Patrick, 7, it was his first time watching a movie outside. "It's going to be cool," he said. "But I don't want to be bitten by any bugs."
