WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Former NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams’ suspension is now over, reports CNN .
Williams’ new position with MSNBC as a breaking news anchor will begin mid-September, according to the report.
Williams had been suspended without pay since February after admitting on air that he had misrepresented his role in a mission in Iraq in 2003. He claimed he had been aboard a helicopter that was forced down by a rocket-propelled grenade, which was not true. NBC Universal subsequently followed up with a review of his reporting in the field and commentary related to his reporting for more than 10 years and found that Williams made various inaccurate statements about his experiences.
