WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Westchester residents were in the mood to get cool Friday, flocking to area beaches as a heat wave looms.

A heat wave is defined as three straight days of temps at 90 degrees or more -- which has not yet happened this year.

Rye Town Park & Beach were buzzing with activity Friday, with most finding shade under umbrellas, or by getting wet.

Temperatures are expected to be near, or above, 90% for the next seven days.
