Rye Mom Would Like To Walk Kids To School

RYE, N.Y. -- Margaret Bryant drives to drop off and pick up her son Alexander from Midland School every day, though she would like be able to walk once in a while.

"I'm mostly concerned about safety," said Bryant, who said she doesn't live close enough to the school and also has to keep an eye on her twin daughters, Adriana and Ava.This week, Midland School encouraged parents to walk with their children to school to promote exercise and safer roads.

A safer route to school is precisely what Bryant is looking for, because with three young children to watch and care for she doesn't want to take any chances.

"If there was a clear walking path away from traffic from the center of town to the school, I would definitely take it," she said.
