RYE, N.Y. Public input is wanted from all Rye residents as the Rye Free Reading Room begins to plan for the future of the librarys services, programs and resources.
Change and growing complexity are constant factors in the lives of everyone in the community, and we want to stay ahead of the curve so the Rye Free Reading Room remains at the center of community life, said Library Director Kitty Little, in a prepared statement released Tuesday.
Public forums will be held at the library, located at 1061 Boston Post Road in Rye, on Sept. 12 and 25 as well as Oct. 13. A questionnaire will also circulate so the library can hear from as many people as possible, Little said.
The Librarys Strategic Planning Committee wants to develop a plan to maximize resources to address the needs and interests of every member of the community over the next five years. The strategizing process will be completed by early 2013.
The first of the public forums will be on Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the librarys Community Meeting Room, and all interested residents are invited to take part.
