RYE, N.Y. The windows of many downtown businesses and restaurants were transformed Sunday into spooky and scary scenes.
The Woman's Club of Rye and the Children's Philanthropy sponsored the 59th annual Halloween Window Painting Day. The event, held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., was for Rye children in kindergarten through eighth grades. Teams of kids used watercolor paints to design original scenes on shops along Purchase Street and beyond.
Along with the artistic endeavors, families were treated to live music and refreshments.
