On Tuesday, police confirmed that first responders rushed to the hotel shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Monday after being alerted of a man who had collapsed and was unresponsive in the parking lot of the location.

The rapper was treated at the scene with Narcan - a narcotic overdose antidote - by emergency service responders before being rushed to a local hospital, which he has since checked out of.

According to reports, a witness that knows the rapper, claimed he had allegedly taken a powdered source before collapsing, though conflicting reports say he may have suffered an asthma attack. No drugs were found on the scene, and no criminal charges have been filed.

DMX, 45, was born as Earl Simmons in Mount Vernon and raised in Yonkers. He’s won two Grammy awards. He had been scheduled to perform at the Chance in Poughkeepsie on Sunday, Feb. 27.

On Tuesday afternoon, frequent collaborator and producer Swiizz Beatz took to Twitter to report that he had been on the phone with DMX, “who is good and in great spirits.”
