About 355 water sources, including sinks, water fountains and hose "bibs," were tested for lead in every school.

The acceptable limit is 15 parts per billion. Outlets with high readings were either taken out of service or marked to be used for "hand washing only."

At the elementary school level, a total of five water sources were taken out of service, and more than a dozen water sources were marked for "hand washing only" or "no drinking."

At Port Chester Middle School, of the 71 outlets tested, three water sources were taken out of service, and 27 were marked for "hand washing only."

At Port Chester High School, of 60 water sources tested, two were taken out of service, and four were marked "hand washing only."
