Law enforcement officials, however, stress that there is no credible threat at the Giants or any other NFL game this weekend.

"The State Police creates a comprehensive plan for each specific event we protect at MetLife Stadium," State Police said in a statement. "This plan is revised if the available intelligence warrants changes."

The National Football League has safety procedures in place that have been certified and designated by the Department of Homeland Security since 2008 as effective anti-terrorism technology, the league said in a statement.

"The safety of our fans, stadium personnel, and teams at all NFL games is our priority, and security at our games is robust," the statement read. "Our All NFL clubs use mandatory metal detector screening and multiple layers of perimeter security external to the stadium to safeguard fans and the stadium from explosive threats".

The NFL said it is closely monitoring events and has been in communication with the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI.

"There will be an increased security and law enforcement presence both inside and outside stadiums in the parking lots of our stadiums this weekend," the NFL said. "We have been in contact with clubs hosting games to reinforce our standard procedures and the league’s best practices."

MetLife Stadium does not allow those attending events to bring bags that are not clear or are larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches.

"The NFL and team security departments work closely with stadium operation personnel and federal, state, and local law enforcement to provide a safe experience for the more than 17 million fans who annually attend NFL games," the NFL said. "The NFL and its teams continually evaluate and improve our comprehensive security plan."

State Police are also learning more about the tactics used in the Paris attacks that killed more than 120 people. The attacks were coordinated at six locations, including a stadium hosting a soccer game and a concert hall.

State Police ask those attending the game to stay alert and report any suspicious persons or activity to the terrorism tip line at 866-4-SAFE-NJ.
