Osborn School fifth grader Tom Cassidy was dismissed early Thursday at 1:00 p.m. due to the heat, which peaked at 91 degrees. Tom said there was a rumor floating around the fourth grade that it was 110 degrees in one of the classrooms and they had to study math in the hallway.
"It wasn't that hot," said Tom.
The fourth graders weren't telling total tall tales, however. Though it didn't reach 110 degrees, one of the fourth grade classrooms did get unbearably hot and the students took their lessons into the hall.
